HistoryFreemasons were not around in the middle ages, despite the claims and implied history the Freemasons would have us believe. The Freemasons claim the first Lodge in New Zealand was a French Lodge founded in Akaroa, February 1843, and called Francaise Primitive Antipodienne d'Akaroa. They also state the Grand Lodge in New Zealand was started in 1890. We have not yet verified these claims. In recent years numbers of Freemasons have waned, so Freemasons around the world, including in New Zealand, have launched membership drives to encourage new recruits. |
